Peter Sewell, Board Member
Peter is Member of the Board of Directors of BlackBox IP. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer at CPA Global for 14 years. Peter joined CPA Global in 1999 and led the Company’s transformation into the global leader in IP management software and services, extending the product/service range, overseeing key acquisitions, and increasing worldwide reach. He was instrumental in attracting new investment to help fund further business growth, and pioneered CPA Global’s expansion in Asia, including the establishment of delivery centers in India and a direct presence in China and South Korea. Prior to joining CPA Global, Peter led the development of a number of businesses in the financial services sector.
Anand Sharma, Founder & CEO
Founder & CEO at BlackBox IP, Anand comes with over 25 years of experience in various leadership roles with global corporations; recently with CPA Global, and previously with Bennett Coleman, Cendant and E-bookers. He has played a pivotal role in scaling many early-stage businesses to highly profitable multi-million dollar enterprises. He has served on international Board of Directors and Global Executive roles with CPA Global, where he turned around the IP Services into the fastest growing and highly profitable business. Anand founded BlackBox IP with a vision to supporting clients in mitigating risks, arising from complexities in IP practices, by building products and services that are designed, created and serviced for the unique needs of clients. He studied Chartered Accountancy after graduation in Business Commerce.
Brian Roche, Executive Vice President
Brian Roche is the Executive Vice President – North America. Brian’s background includes over 30 years of experience in the IP industry. He has had various leadership roles in Sales and Client Retention Strategy at Computer Packages, Inc., Dennemeyer, and most recently he was Vice President Strategic Accounts at CPA Global. Brian is responsible for managing and growing the Sales team in North America, developing the marketing and brand development strategy, client retention, customer service, and supporting and developing the overall infrastructure for the company. He works out of our Washington, DC area location. Brian obtained his BS degree in Business Administration from Towson University and an MS degree from the University of Maryland.
Amit Chauhan, Co-founder & CFO
Amit is a co-founder and CFO at BlackBox IP. He also oversees the management functions of the company. He is a recognized finance professional in various fields of finance including M&A, corporate finance, fundraising & management, formulating business and strategic plans, global taxation, legal functions, setting up and leading finance operations and shared services teams, with over 20 years of experience with global companies. Prior to co-founding BlackBox IP, he was SVP – Finance at CPA Global, a leader in the IP market. He has provided finance leadership in high-growth companies as well as established global finance functions in large corporations.
Amit is well known for his high standards in managing finance functions. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance and executive education from Harvard Business School.
Vivek Gupta, Co-founder & COO
Vivek is a co-founder & COO at BlackBox IP. He has over 17 years of experience in IP business, initially with IP Pro, Evaluserve and then over 10 years with CPA Global. Vivek has a deep knowledge and expertise in the field of IP and Patent Research in diverse technology areas such as Hi-tech, semiconductor packaging, telecommunication, medical imaging systems and medical diagnostic systems. Vivek has run global operations spanning across functions such as patent research, IP Administration, analytics & monetization spread over international offices. Vivek has led his teams from the front in winning, servicing and crisis management. He is very passionate about zero defect services to clients and has the relentless drive to make process improvements. He enables our sales & marketing teams in understanding and presenting IP centric solution to clients.
Vivek holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay & Executive education from Harvard Business School.
Ashish Kumar, Head of Technology
Ashish Kumar is Head of Technology at BlackBox IP. Ashish has over 12 years of software and technology-rich experience with global corporations like Headstrong, CPA Global and Innoplexus. He has directly worked with large clients like Nuance, Morgen Stanley, Merck, AbbVie and Sanofi. Ashish has managed projects and led teams in various stages of the technology lifecycle including conceptualizing and developing and implementing technology solutions. He has successfully managed business complexities and deployed multiple solutions in the US, Europe and India. He has extensive experience in implementing and managing automation, data intensive and AI solutions. He is an AWS certified architect, and specializes in implementing AI/ML solutions on AWS. He has worked on scoring, valuation, prediction and recommendation engines. He also has excellent exposure to entity extraction and classification, and led AI powered universal data crawler development. He leads our R&D team in developing advanced algorithms and insightful analytics. Ashish holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
